Project – Around the Harbour' (#3 Harbour Walls)


The West Wall providing protection from the prevailing weather


Even at high tide the top of the wall must be 20 feet above the water


The Lighthouse at the harbour entrance


In contrast the Northern wall is only a few feet above sea level. Big storms from the North are rare.

    I think my favourite is the fourth one. Granted, one doesn’t see much of the sea, but that impressive wall brings to mind the reason for that lighthouse to exist. I love the staircase too, for the same reason.
