Castle Crag

Two shots of Castle Crag. Site of an Iron Age fort, the remains of which are no longer obvious as the summit was quarried extensively for slate in the last centaury. The view from the summit down the Borrowdale valley are superb and I believe Alfred Wainwright referred to it as ‘his favourite square mile in the Lake District’

Both taken with a Hasselblad 503cx, one with a Zeiss Distagon 50mm lens and the other with a Zeiass Planar 80mm lens

Cumbria, UK, March 2013

Stunning. Nothing has ever made me want to visit the Lake District like your photographs.
