Thanks John. These are my first attempts and I quite like the results. With high contrast images like this I’m always conscious that what looks okay on my (un-calibrated, small laptop) screen might not look so good on other, better monitors. I know there is quite a difference between PC’s and Mac’s

Superb – I would be interested to know which scanner you are using – my old Epson “Perfection” is anything but.

Canon Canoscan 9000f. I also use a Reflecta Proscan 7200 for 35mm film and the scans from the Reflecta have way better resolution. I use Vuescan software with both.
