Ramside Hall Charity Boxing Evening

Last Saturday (23rd November) I was lucky enough to attend a fantastic evening of amateur boxing at the Ramside Hall Hotel.

The evening was organised by Paul Lysaght, head coach of Durham University Amateur Boxing Club and Gary Crooks of Bearpark Boxing Club to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support and a local charity ‘Investors in Young People’ which provides help, support and mentoring for young people in the Durham area.

The event was well attended with about 30 tables (of 10 seats) sold for the pre fight dinner including ringside tables with champagne and waitress service and charity raffle.

There were several bouts with local boxing clubs well represented as well as fighters from the university club taking to the ring displaying some great fitness and skills.

According to the organisers the feedback from guests at the event has been overwhelmingly positive and the hotel did a great job to ensure the evening ran smoothly.
