(How would you tell whether it was gas or not…… I guess there would be a wiggly bit sticking out the side under the glass?)

Very good photo. I like the way the cobblestones/bricks are highlighted.

  Ah, well spotted John. I ‘dodged’ the highlights on the cobblestones under the lamp to emphasise them. Much as I would have done if I’d printed this in the darkroom.

    Thanks. This picture would have been so much better with a mysterious figure just coming around the corner (preferably with a cloak on!) but I wasn’t prepared to wait around in the cold for that to happen.
