A series of shots showing a fighter and coach training ‘on the pads’.
These were taken at a very rough and run down boxing gym in the middle of a council estate in the North of England.
The place is falling apart and underfunded but provides an escape from the streets. The people who train here are from a generally poor and underprivileged background. This is somewhere to stay fit, focused and learn some discipline.

Thanks Russ. The lighting was almost non existent! Two dim fluorescent strip lights and dark corners everywhere. Considering these were shot on HP5+ underexposed by 3 stops and given extended developed in Rodinal @1+25 I’m quite pleased with how they turned out! Thanks again for taking the time to comment. John
